More Media Mentions for Casey James

Check out the below recent articles on Casey’s new single:

In an article entitled “American Idol’ Roundup: What’s New With Seven Non-Winners from Past Seasons — Hear Their Latest Music Here” on Entertainment Weekly’s ew.com, Grady Smith writes:

Something different is happening this summer, though. Idol alumni are taking charge of their careers and releasing a whole slew of new music into the world … a handful of Idol contestants … who didn’t make the finals have new material due, and we’ve gathered them all in one big listening session here just for you.

The piece then names “Let’s Don’t Call It a Night” as Casey’s debut single, and includes an audio of the song.  Click here to read the whole article.

Respected blogger Lyndsey Parker, on Reality Rocks, Where Unscripted Television Faces the Music, posted this article entitled “Casey James Premieres First Country-Rock Single.”  Parker, an outspoken fan of Casey’s who provided a complimentary review of “Drive” back in March, included this comment in her review of “Let’s Don’t Call It a Night”:

Casey co-penned the tune with pro country songsmiths Brice Young … and Terry McBride … but it sounds like he collaborated with Bob Seger, Steve Miller, and the bearded dudes from ZZ Top. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing. Quite the contrary. It just has a very old-school, old-soul feel to it, which will likely appeal to fans of classic AOR rock …

In this article about Casey and his music, Norman Byrd on huliq.com describes “Let’s Don’t Call It a Night” as blues-tinged country.  He then includes this quote from Casey addressing the relatively long wait for his album, “My goal is to make a great record, not necessarily to strike while the iron’s hot.”  Byrd then writes:

With songs like “Drive,” “Bulletproof,” and “Let’s Don’t Call It A Night” already making the rounds on YouTube, fans might agree that the 29-year-old singer’s intentions of making a great album are coming to pass.

On its Facebook page, New Country KS93 posted this underneath a picture of the cover art for Casey’s new single:
