In Europe, a couple of parliamentarians want the European Commission believes something like a copyright for all links to be published on the web. Yes, you read that right: A copyright for hyperlinks.
The draft document was leaked ahead of time through IPKat ‘re supposed to be officially presented in December- indicate that by linking to a web site that has content that violates the law of copyright , the links are responsible for the same crime.
In other words, virtually the entire internet would be affected if this passes and legislating.
The good news is that already appeared official opponents of the cause, as Julia Reda German Pirate Party. According to Reda, the European Commission is preparing “a frontal attack on the hyperlink” :
“In the document, the commission suffers from lack of clarity about what actions need internet permission to take out and what not. In legal terms, they are questioning the act of communicating to the public.
Protect links to laws copyright change the Internet as we know it today.
It would create loopholes, confusion and legal expenses for all. Would damage neurons in the internet in exchange for serving the interests of a few. And we can not let that happen.”
Reda also recalls that already were attempts to legislate on this in Germany and Spain, but both failed and “tremendous collateral damage.” Before there have been similar efforts in the European parliament but this new one is “the most dangerous of all.” Visit http://headinformation.com/ for more reviews.
